Château Margaux sits on the left bank of the Gironde, producing wines from gravelly, well-drained soils. The maritime climate ensures warm, dry summers that concentrate fruit in old vines.
Cabernet Sauvignon 90%, Merlot 6%, Petit Verdot 4%
Dominant Cabernet Sauvignon provides deep structure and longevity; Merlot softens the mid-palate; Petit Verdot adds color and spice.
Deep Quaternary gravel over clay gives superb drainage. Fermented in wooden vats, aged 18 months in 100% new French oak.
Primary blackcurrant and violet lead to cedar and graphite, with tobacco and mocha developing over long aging.
2018 was a near-perfect Bordeaux vintage. Ideal with roast lamb, beef filet, or aged hard cheeses.
